About two minutes later, officers said they received a call about a serious three-vehicle crash.
Investigators said the sports car blew through a red light at nearly 100 mph and slammed into a sedan and a pickup truck containing five people. Three occupants of the pickup truck died in the crash and the other two occupants were hospitalized, authorities said. An occupant of the sedan was also injured.
