Motor vehicle accidents: Driver flees scene of major crash

On Behalf of | Jul 20, 2020 | Serious Injuries |

These days, dangers are literally everywhere on roadways across the country. The high volumes of traffic on the road today makes driving one of the most dangerous day-to-day activities in the lives of most California residents. Every year, thousands of people are involved in motor vehicles accidents. A traffic accident is something no person wants to experience, but when the at-fault driver flees the scene of the accident, the experience can be traumatic. Police are seeking information after a driver fled the scene of an accident in Temecula that injured another motorist.

The crash happened just before 3 pm on Rancho California Road at the I-15 intersection. Police reports said a pickup truck traveling west on Rancho California ran the red light at the intersection and violently collided with an SUV. The SUV was turning from the I-15 ramp onto Rancho California.

According to reports, the driver of the SUV was seriously injured in the crash and rushed to a local hospital. Riverside County Police arrived on the scene to find the pickup truck abandoned at the intersection. They said the driver fled the scene on foot before they arrived. Police are currently searching for the driver who fled and are seeking information about the accident.

Once found, the driver who fled the scene could be facing very serious criminal charges. California residents have a right to pursue full accountability from the at-fault party when they suffer injuries or lose immediate family members due to negligence in motor vehicle accidents. A lawsuit, if successful, could give just compensation to the victim’s family that can be used to cover end-of-life expenses and recover other financial losses.
