Motor vehicle accidents: Young boy killed in 10-car crash

On Behalf of | Jun 5, 2020 | Serious Injuries |

Those who call California home know just how crowded and congested roadways can get here. Due to high traffic volumes, motor vehicle accidents are basically inevitable these days. Fortunately, most crashes are minor and nothing more than inconveniences. However, a growing number of crashes are serious or fatal.

A recent crash near Los Angeles claimed the life of a young boy and injured several other people. The accident happened along the 10 Freeway during the afternoon hours and involved 10 total vehicles. According to reports, the driver of a tow truck was unable to stop for traffic ahead of him, causing the truck to violently collide with a sedan.

The tow truck continued on and crashed into the rear of an SUV, reports said. The collision pushed the sedan and SUV into several other vehicles in a chain-reaction type of crash. Tragically, authorities said a 13-year-old boy in the SUV was killed in the crash, while the driver of the sedan suffered major injuries. Reportedly, several other people also suffered injuries ranging from minor to severe.

Populations are rising throughout Southern California, and as a result, roadways have become very crowded and dangerous. Unfortunately, not all drivers are as focused or as cautious as they should be behind the wheel, and this is a major cause of many serious or fatal motor vehicle accidents. Those who suffer injury or loss due to the negligence of another party in a crash can take action by seeking the services of a legal representative. A successfully litigated lawsuit could result in rightful compensation to help with medical expenses and other financial losses.
