Biography

Robert Clayton is a Senior Partner at Brock & Gonzales. He is an experienced and accomplished trial attorney with numerous seven and eight figure verdicts and settlements. In fact, in 2023, Robert obtained the largest automobile wrongful death verdict in the County of Los Angeles.

Robert represents clients in catastrophic personal injury actions in both federal and state courts throughout California. He has dedicated his career to representing those seriously injured by the negligent or intentional actions of others. His practice areas included wrongful death; premises liability; dangerous conditions on public and private property (including roadway design issues and structural failures); mass transit accidents involving planes, trains, and buses; product defects; motorcycle accidents; Uber and Lyft cases; vehicular accidents; scalding/burns; police misconduct; and assault and battery cases. He also handles childhood and adult sexual abuse cases.

Every year since 2012, Robert has been named a Super Lawyer by Southern California Super Lawyers Magazine. This distinct honor is only bestowed on 2.5% of practicing attorneys. Prior to that, from 2006-2011, he was recognized by his peers as one of the top lawyers in Southern California under the age of forty as published by Southern California Super Lawyers Magazine in its list of “Rising Stars.”

Robert has been interviewed by many local television news channels regarding his cases and case results. He has been an invited speaker at legal conferences to discuss legal developments in his practice areas. He has also authored several articles concerning various aspects of the law.

Robert spent the first six years of his legal career working for insurance defense firms. That experience has proven invaluable to his clients because he uses his in-depth, behind-the-scenes understanding about how insurance companies evaluate injury claims to the great benefit of his injured clients.
